![]() So apparently it freaked out the postal service but every day I was getting calls and emails from Alvin, "Did you get my package?" And nothing. The package was torn up and leaking a white grainy powder. Well, One day I get this weird package and covered in tape and US Postal inspector, and other weird stamps and markings. I gave most of them away at some bike events and still have a few but finally told him PLEASE STOP! So right after 9/11 and remember all the weird stuff that went on about Anthrax in the mail? Also cut up old chopper magazines and made displays. So Alvin used to send weird trinkets and scale models of home built choppers in the mail. "Any chance his name is Al Snow?" It WAS! Said some lunatic in Florida would call up and buy a few at a time. Years later was at a bike shop and they had a stack of old magazines they were selling. He would go on and on about the good old days. So here is a tangent. There is a loon in Florida named Alvin Snow, was on a Japanese chopper forum years ago and had his 1970s Chopper featured in a few magazines including I think EasyRiders "Readers rides" or the letters sections. I have several stacks of vintage mags, now collectable and I have had offers for them. For a while, especially during the Harley Boom of the 1990s and early 2000s, they would not feature anything that was cool, and only HD, but in the old days it was Honda chops, Triumphs BSA, Kawasaki and anything with 2 wheels although at times some anti Japanese bike themes, but still would feature a cool 1970s Honda chop or similar. I DO respect Arlen in creating a product and riding the wave, but his stuff was never my taste and just seem like a coke addled nightmare. I moved on to Iron Horse which was cooler, featured all kinds of bikes, Not just Arlen Ness vomit inducing cheesiness. ![]() But by the 1990s it was totally cheesy and I lost interest. So, back in the 1980s I used to read them a lot, there was a time period they were pretty cool, Spider, Miraculous Mother, Riding with RIP, and David Mann Paintings, "Leg wettin' Biker fiction" as well as some of the cartoons, totally un-PC material and legal and legislative info was cool. Click on the events tabs and seems things are in turmoil there too. Some weird GIF file on the page playing over and over & they want you to register so they can send you info on the new magazine Issue #1. ![]() So checked their website and seems to be in transition. ![]() Guess it was a problem yesterday with the servers hosting the Toolbox software. ![]() The genuine Indian name " Dikshit" ("dick shit") has been repeatedly mocked in mass media, often to the offense of people bearing the name. ![]() Often, these are double entendres or suggestive. Roller derby teams and players frequently use gag names. There are also various people named Richard "Dick" Head ("dickhead") and Mike Hunt ("my cunt").Īustralian entrepreneur Dick Smith released a brand of matches named Dickheads, modeled after established brand Redheads. Other names in politics which could be regarded as gag names include John Boehner, Harry Baals, Dick Armey, and Tiny Kox (although Boehner's surname is properly pronounced "bay-ner", someone who has not heard the name in news coverage could mispronounce it as "boner", while Kox's name could be vulgar in English ("cocks"), but not in his home nation's Dutch). Former US Congressman from New Hampshire Dick Swett's name, when pronounced, sounds like common slang for male genital perspiration ("dick sweat"). For example, Hu Jintao, former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, whose surname is pronounced like "who", and former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, whose surname is pronounced like "when", have occasionally been the topic of humor similar to the " Who's on First?" sketch. Occasionally, real people with a name that could be interpreted as a funny or vulgar phrase are subject to mockery or parody. Some names that would be considered gag names have been adopted as stage names by performers, often in the adult entertainment industry. Examples of the use of gag names occur in works of fiction in which there is a roll call, a listing of names, or a prank call. The source of humor stems from the double meaning behind the phrase, although use of the name without prior knowledge of the joke could also be funny. Mostly a note to myself on something I wanted to write about The smaller this number, the more consistent the two test durations For example, a ten-second clip that took a minute to process means that if that clip were one-minute long the processing time would be six minutes. Time to Convert: This converts actual results into normalized results. The duration of the source clip in minutes and seconds (mm:ss) (For example, “Deint.” means “deinterlace”.) A somewhat cryptic description of what I did. I only ran those once because, over time, I realized the app did not vary much in how long it took to process a task. NOTE: There were four tests which ran a ridiculously long time. The most important column has numbers in bold: “Time to Convert 1:00 of Media.” This normalizes the results of each task so that regardless of how long the source clip is, we can compare results between tests. I created a series of 24 tests for the software, ran each test twice and averaged the results in this table. All media was stored on the internal drive of my Mac. I was using the latest version of Topaz Video AI: v3.1.11. I tested Video AI on an M1 Pro 16″ MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.3. Would I recommend the program? Yes, but be sure you have a fast computer to run it on. What it has problems with can be solved using other tools. A “roadmap” is not a tutorial.Ĭlearly, like all software wrapped around AI, Topaz Video AI is a work in progress. For instance, an explanation on how to create super slow motion is found in the online Product Roadmap which makes no sense. In addition to image stabilization, Video AI has other issues such as: confusing presets, long processing times on slower systems and a lack of clear guidance providing a recommended way to accomplish a task. This is not a good app to use for stabilization. Premiere Pro yields results similar to FCP. It takes – I did the tests – up to 53 times longer to stabilize a clip in Video AI than in Final Cut Pro. ![]() Frankly, stabilization is a complete mess. The slowmo created by Video AI is far better than optical flow, with consistent and clear details. While not generally used for drama, it makes action and sports footage much more “real” and clear. This gives footage the feeling it was shot at high-frame rates. This adds back detail that was lost due to the small size of the original image. Up-scaling (also called “up-rezing” or “up-resing”).The deinterlacer in Topaz Video AI is outstanding and good enough on its own to justify purchasing the program. The key features in Topaz Video AI include: I’ve spent the last three days working with it and here’s what I learned. The folks at Topaz Labs gave me a one-month license to review the current version (3.1.11) of their software. ![]() All with the goal of improving image quality. Topaz Video AI is used for deinterlacing video, upscaling low-resolution video to a higher resolution, removing excessive motion blur and creating super smooth slow motion. But, when you learn how it works, it creates results that will drop your jaw to the floor. It requires serious computing power, takes time to process, and its interface can be confusing. This might explain why some are seeing the logon issues with 3.0.7 and others not.UPDATE CAUTION (May 16, 2023): There is a bug in Topaz Video AI 3.2.5 which makes deinterlacing confusing. My licence expired after release 3.0.3 or so, I am relying on the posted Topaz undertaking to extend licensing for releases 3.0.x, for anyone who was correctly licensed for 3.0.0. I will be reverting to an earlier version. I edited a few times to reflect my latest findings. ![]() ![]() These things are not standard industry practice for consumer video software and should not be done. Or who don’t want log files cluttering up their system (we aren’t supposed to be Beta testers!). In other words, this software version cannot usefully be used offline either for those who choose to work like this or whose internet connection is down when starting the program.
Add effects to video clips with up to 32 slots. To make audio editing more intuitive, it presents the audio wave to help you locate a part to cut and edit easily. You are also allowed to add other audio files and mix them with the video, which makes up for the absence of voice over recording in this program. You can right-click the audio strip to change speed or mute. The audio and video tracks are separated by default. You have more font options rather than changing the color and size. And it finally adds new text fonts in the font list. Previously, it was either replaced or crossed, and took a lot of time to adjust the overlay. Whatever texts or images you add will be overlaid on top of the video. ![]() In the latest version of Blender, it has made a big step in video editing. And in 2002, its founder decided to build a team of dedicated volunteers all over the world and make Blender software free and open-source. Though it was once shut down because of the company's capabilities and the market realities at that time, it survived with the help of public fundraising. And Blender was developed in this new company called Not a Number (NaN). ![]() ![]() Later its founder Ton Roosendaal decided to found a new company to develop a spin-off of NeoGeo. It was originally an internal 2D animation tool of a Dutch animation studio NeoGeo which quickly grew as the leading animation house in Europe in the late 1990s. It is the versatility that makes it excel most free video editors.īut it was not born as what it is now. But its built-in video editor never lags behind other video editors. Of course, it is a piece of powerful 3D animation making, 3D modeling, and sculpting software. When talking about Blender software, 3D animation making may come to most people's minds first. Now we're going to make an all-round review of Blender. People who utilize these two features well create brilliant videos with magnificent 3D effects. Video editing and 3D modeling are two different functions in this program. Summary: Blender builds its fame by 3D animation making and 3D modeling, but its Video Sequence Editor should not be ignored either. ![]() Determine your budget and explore options within that range.
